Jarhead 2: field of fire
This movie doesn't have the feeling of the original movie and I feel that it is just ripping its name for commercial succes.
Tough this movie has a softer version of the anti war message set in the war in afganistan and not Iraq like Sandcastle that I reviewed eirlier but not doesn't get anything funny or any hard message along.
The story mainly turns around the anti war story to some action adventure, of some ragtag marines that are tasked with transporting goods, with its now squad commander after the previous one is killed in action.
Instead it is replaced like I said it is a story about love and action and not about the dread of modern or war in general as they pick up a seal and a female "package" they go on an adventure together unintentionally as they get attacked underway by the taliban and their transports are destroyed and have to return to base on foot, and on the other side their commander is trying to get them back but there is some sandstorm that prevents that from happening
Some emotional stuff happen as one after the other crewmate dies in action and at the end you know everything goes well for the newly promoted sergeant?
Like I said, this movie is just a rip off from the original movie and shouldn't have been a jarhead movie in the first place. I give this movie a 5/10
