Interview with Cryptonomica Productions

Hello there people,

after a long content drought, of quality that is I have stricken a collaboration deal with

Cryptonomica Productions. A relativly small youtube channel that makes quality creepy pasta readings worth checking out! below you will find their interview they were very kind to be filled in. I highly recommend them myself :)

Could you introduce yourself?

Hi, I’m Oliver - I work on the audio and video for Cryptonomica Productions and manage the group as a whole. However, it’s not just me; we have a great team who make it possible for us to publish the content we love creating. Without Faye gathering imagery for the videos or Hannah constantly coming up with the perfect music, and of course our team of talented narrators, we wouldn’t be able to do what we do.

What do you do on YouTube?

We publish narrated creepypasta stories with original music.

What is the mission of the channel?

Our goal is to create Creepypasta content that has great narration, high quality production, chilling original music and captivating visuals.

When did you start and what made you start?

I have always had a love for all things horror and discovered Creepypasta whilst at school. I loved the idea of spooky tales that got spread online and quickly found out about the masses of content being put online every day. Over the years, I managed to amass quite the collection of audio gear and software so I decided to put it to good use by doing something I am very passionate about.

There are some amazing Creepypasta channels out there already but we wanted to do something a bit different, starting with using multiple narrators.

Is there a video you’re especially proud of?

That would have to be “Before I moved out, I found a letter addressed to me”.

Up until this point, we had taken all of our stories from the Creepypasta Wiki which operates under a Creative Commons license meaning we are free to take and use the content providing we credit the authors. “I found a letter…” was the first story which we took from Reddit and approached the author for permission to narrate and use for our channel. Thankfully he agreed and it has been one of our most popular videos to date.

What are your goals for next year?

We want to develop the quality of the actual videos themselves. We have invested in a better video editor and hope to recruit someone who shares our passion for all things spooky to create original footage to really bring our narrations to life.

We are keen to collaborate with other small channels in a bid to help each other grow and reach wider audiences. The big players like Creeps McPasta and Mr Creeps all make quality content but the smaller guys often don’t reach the numbers they deserve to. Ms Astet, Professor Pasta, Pumpkin Queen, Silent Sam, Mad Chatter and many, many more are all producing masses of

noteworthy content and we want to play our part in getting them noticed whilst growing ourselves as a channel.

Why should people watch your channel? Anything in particular?

We pride ourselves on really getting down to the nitty gritty of the audio as our main focus - we want people to find our channel and enjoy listening to different narrators, a new soundtrack each time, and ultimately have a pleasant listening experience. We spend a great deal of time from finding the perfect EQ and reverb, to removing wet mouth clicks and harsh sibilance and plosives, to create the optimal listening experience.

I hope you like them! please subscribe!
