The ledgend of hercules (2014)
I watched this movie the day before yesterday and I must say that
the award for worst acting goes to this movie along side the award
for neglecting source material and completly butchering it completly
but overal still a bit of a romantic story.
So we start with a random mythical battle where a tyrant king conquers a smaller kingdom where a lot of gold is active and that is where the conquest finds its reason, the gold not a rivalrt. The queen makes herself pregnant by praying to Hera and Zues comes to her at night when the army is partying but fcourse, the king comes in the tent withanother female while the queen is moaning while being conciving Hercules.
Ofcourse the king is angry and gets a manhunt and some thunderstorm happens (zues is also the god of thunder and this is also a hint about what is to come) I wasn't aware of the bad acting at this point of the movie.
This is where we cut to where Hercules is in his twenties something and he and his lover, the princes of Krete swimming in some kind of hippie paradise while the princes is being escorted to some kind of party where it will be announced that she will be married with the heir of the throne of our kingdom. Also they're “caught” by the older brother and there is some sas following.
The escort goes on their way with the princess and the two brothers go their own path, and here is the last thing that Hercules has in common with the original myth it is the Lion in greece that cannot be hurt by spears or arrows or daggers so Hercules has to strangle it to death.
So the story goes on, the older brother goes away with the bragging rights of killing the lion, and hercules permits it because then he can eye his future wife in the progress on that party on which the announcement will happen that the heir of the throne (the older brother) will be marying the princces of Krete.
They escape together, or at least try, they get caught and get caught, because of this Hercules is send away to Egypt to quell an “uprising” but the soldiers get ambushed almost killing everyone but the captain and Hercules. Survive (ofcourse) and get captured. In their travels they get to become gladiators in a society that seems to be right before the roman empire and the glorydays of the greek city states and because of this betting guy they get back to greece and win their freedom where they begin a revolution that ends at the end of the movie where there is a happy ending even tough they made it seems that the movie was going to end like a disaster that itself is and that only Hercules would survive it.
Like I hinted about it the acting is bad, the storyline is kinda mediocre and at the whole picture the whole movie is a disaster. Cheesy lines are everywhere and said by everyone and they seem forced. At moments the movie seems to be made for 3D and other times the CGI is kinda crappy all the time more than one item is in view of the audience. It is kind of sad that most of the good actors in this movie have been given secondary roles and that the worst actors have been given the major roles in this movieadaptation of what is not the ledgend of Hercules but a movie adaptation of romeo and juliette influenced by the ledgend of Hercules.
I give this movie a 2/10 just for the captain!
