The mummy (1999) (English review)

Hello there,

finally I have watched this movie to write an article about this movie, and to be honest I hated it to watch it again to write this article.

Storyline

The movie starts very seriously with the opening of the headpriest at the court of the pharaoh and betrayed him by basically hooking up with the pharaoh's favorite mistress. When he found out he was mad of course but the misstress killed herself and the priest escaped and almost ressurected the woman.  But then the royal guard storms in and disrupts the ritual.

The punishment that all the priests and the headpriest has to suffer is mumufication before they're dead. But the headpriest has to suffer the Hom-dai. Which is cutting off the tongue and putting beetles in the sarcophagus then close it. There is also a curse set upon it that when it is opened the seven plagues of egypt will follow. 

It is here that the seriousness of the movie ends, it is filled with comic relief.

An american treasure hunter, and a british archeologythingie and her brother goes to the hidden burial ground after a battle and opens the burial grounds and now they have to defeat the resurected mummy.

My opinion and other irritating stuff 

I think this movie is utterly not fantastic. I think that the comic relief is to overused and would that the movie that is why I give this movie a 6/10
